You have two snack options in front of you.
Fresh fruit… and fruit snacks.
Which one do you grab?
The fresh fruit is nourishing, healthy, and full of healing benefits for your body down to the cellular level… but the fruit snack? Not so much.
Which option you choose says a lot about where you are with your relationship with food and with yourself. Making mindful choices about what you put in your body is vital to your optimal health and well-being.
If you think about it, there was a time when Cheetos didn’t exist. People didn’t “need” Cheetos or potato chips or anything of the sort. In fact, this fascination with junk food and obsession with eating is relatively new. In the past, people didn’t live to eat, they ate to live!
But instead, we’ve been sold this idea by big businesses that fruit isn’t good for you… and you know why? Fruit can’t be patented for profit, so obviously, “they” don’t want you to go for the fruit. Being told that fruit is bad for you is one of the biggest lies you’ve ever been told!
Each beautiful piece of fruit that you eat has gone through the process of nature— and is full of the energy and nutrients you need to create the health and well-being you really want.
Mother Earth and Nature have provided all of us with exactly what we need to live, heal, and be vibrantly well. The fruits that grow on Earth were literally put here just for you to thrive. That’s why I get so excited to eat a piece of fruit! It still amazes me that these delicious, life-saving, health preserving things just GROW here!
So, if you’ve ever been told by any doctor or practitioner to avoid fruit or to limit the amount of fruit you eat… this is your permission slip to set yourself FREE!
We have a health care system that overlooks the root causes of chronic health issues and only helps people manage pain. It doesn’t help people heal – and THAT – is unacceptable.
That’s why I’ve made it my mission to spread the TRUTH about how to live and age healthy and well.
And do you know what one KEY to living and aging healthy and well is? You guessed it, it’s FRUIT!
Why?
Because your brain needs glucose to survive, thrive, and function optimally. (All of the cells in your body need glucose!)
Who wouldn’t want to feed your brain what it needs to be well and prevent things like memory loss and other forms of cognitive decline?!
That’s where glucose comes in. You’re made up of cells— and your body’s cells need glucose. Without it, the cells in your body cannot perform their individual functions optimally. This controls whether you get to experience optimal health and well-being as a WHOLE person.
So what fruits should you eat to live fully, vibrantly, and boost your brain health? Well, ALL fruits are great, but I’ll tell you some of my personal favorites…
These bright little red fruits are more than just a great snack, but they’re one of the world’s best super fruits! They also play a huge role in keeping your brain healthy by fighting off free radicals. Free radicals are toxic and damage your cells. Over time, this can lead to cognitive decline, including memory loss.
Strawberries, like most berries, are easy to incorporate into your diet, and although they are best when in season, they’re generally always available.
Raspberries have powerful anti-aging, anti-cancer, and anti-inflammatory properties. They are packed with nutrients that keep improving brain health and reduce neuron inflammation. By reducing the inflammation of neurons, you protect your brain from neurological damage.
Throw them in a smoothie for a healthy breakfast or eat them as a treat on a hot summer day.
Pomegranates are packed with antioxidants and trace minerals. They are fantastic hormone regulators because they help flush out toxic hormones that contribute to cancer development. Pomegranates are another amazing brain food thanks to their high quality glucose.
If you’re looking for a natural way to improve your skin – pomegranates help unclog pores and hair follicles!
Cherries
Cherries anti-inflammatory properties make them great for helping arthritis, joint pain, and nerve pain. They’re also super cleansers. Because of this they have a unique benefit for women – cherries remove toxins from the reproductive system and help prevent and reduce uterine cysts and fibroids.
Look for the darkest cherries when you’re out buying them – the darker shades have the most healing and health benefits.
Grapes help improve heart and brain function. It can also prevent blood clotting by improving blood flow, which helps provide adequate oxygen and blood to the brain. Their phytochemicals are anti-aging, anti-cancerous, anti-viral, anti-microbial, AND anti-inflammatory – SUPER powerful!
Have you ever tried frozen grapes? They taste just like a popsicle but without all the artificial additives and sugar. Try putting a handful in the freezer for a while.
I saved the best for last – the tiny but mighty wild blueberry. Wild blueberries are one of the most powerful healing foods on the planet. There is no cancer or health problem they cannot prevent. They have more antioxidants than any food on Earth. When you eat wild blueberries they search out potential problems, monitor toxins and stress, and find the best way to help you heal (no other foods can do this).
Wild blueberries are not the same as the regular, cultivated blueberries you find at the grocery store. Look for them in the freezer section of your local grocery store. Try adding 2 cups to a smoothie each day and watch how things transform for you.
As you move through your day, start to notice how your relationship with food has evolved and what it’s like now.
Ask yourself—
If you find that you have an unhealthy relationship with food, you’re using it to numb or comfort yourself, or you just know what you’re doing isn’t supporting the health and well-being you really want – intentionally evaluating your relationship with food can be such an eye-opening and worthwhile experience as it gives you a glimpse into potentially MASSIVE power leaks.
And when you take all that power back, you can set yourself up for a long life and keep yourself and your brain healthy for the future.

Dr. Elizabeth
